Collaboration with fashion designer Bar Bukai. A joint project by Shenkar College of Engineering, Design and Art and Wharton University of Pennsylvani.
Inspired by an interview with two African artists Sunny Dolat and Jim Chuchu ,we created a brand, giving voice to experimental design and art in Africa. The brand is rooted in 5 values which align with 5 traditional African icons: Intelligence, Knowledge, Emancipation, Courage and Universality. We named it 'WE ARE NOT' in response to the superficiality of the African trend.
We disassembled African icons from their ancient form and extracted a more abstract and contemporary configuration.
